Easthampton Mayor’s Toy Fund campaign begins for 2020

Date: 10/28/2020

EASTHAMPTON – The long-standing Mayor’s Toy Fund campaign is approaching and Mayor Nicole LaChapelle is preparing for this year’s fund.

In these unusual times, LaChapelle said she wants to get toys and books out to families in need as soon as possible. She is asking residents to fill out the form by Nov. 30. If you do not have computer access or would like more information, residents can call 529-1400 ext. 143 by the deadline.

The toy fund supports kids ages 12 and under.

Unlike previous years, the gifts will be wrapped and distributed to families in a contactless manner. LaChapelle said the plan will depend on how many families reach out.

In a written statement, it read toys, books, and games offer many benefits during the pandemic. They help combat boredom, relieve anxiety in children, and even contribute to the educational development of children.

She is asking that people who wish to donate, donate in money. Checks can be written out to Toy Fund Easthampton and dropped off in the dropbox in front of City Hall or mailed to 50 Payson Ave., and directed to the Mayor’s Office.
