Date: 11/13/2023

EASTHAMPTON — The Easthampton Winter Farmers Market returned to the Eastworks first floor hallway on Nov. 12 and is geared up with fresh products and goods for the upcoming winter months.

The future dates set for the winter market are Nov. 19 and 26, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, Jan. 7 and 21, Feb. 4 and 18, March 3, 17 and 31, and April 7 will conclude the winter market season.

Easthampton Winter Farmers Market manager Jenn Krassler spoke with Reminder Publishing brings energy and excitement to her role and said she is very much looking forward to the markets return. The market accepts SNAP and HIP benefits and also offer up to $10 SNAP match every week that can be used for any item in the market.

“It’s a pretty full market, it’s just as big as the outdoor one. We pretty much take up the entire hallway and are there for four hours. It’s a great time and it’s really nice,” Krassler said.

Krassler added the winter market features many of the familiar faces from the regular farmers market which creates continuity within the community and lets those familiar know there are still plenty of goods available during the winter market.

Krassler said during the December dates, the market will invite extra local artists who can sell their goods and holiday themed work for holiday shoppers.

“It’s a great time to go Christmas shopping,” Krassler said.

Krassler also manages the newly reborn South Hadley Farmers’ Market that was hosted at Buttery Brook Park throughout the year. Krassler noted that South Hadley would not have a winter market this year as they are still trying to identify what the best location would be for an indoor market in town.

Krassler thanked all the vendors at the markets she manages for their collaboration and added many of them will be featured at the winter market in Easthampton.

“The collaboration between vendors is really awesome. Everybody is there to help and support each other. It’s so much fun to be there and it feels like you’re hanging out with friends. Even when customers come by, you see the same faces every week. It’s just so friendly and awesome,” Krassler added.

Krassler said she hopes to see continued growth in the market and encourages residents to make it a weekly stop in the winter as there is a great selection set up for the season.

“It was really great last year, it’s going to be even better this year,” Krassler said.
