CHESTER – A Trunk-or-Treat took place on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Chester ballfield on Emery Street. Residents decorated their cars and truck beds to entice the 75 or so children of all ages who came throughout the evening to ask them for treats.
Elizabeth Massa of the Chester Board of Health wore a frightening mask, and decorated her truck with lit up ghosts and spiders.
Chester Library Director Angelique Toroni was “Beauty” to Nick Toroni’s “Beast,” and gave out books with a treat attached to the children who stopped to see her.
Other cars had harvest themes, with more scary masks and even dinosaur costumes on display, along the Chester Fire Department Engine 1.
Many families walked to the field for the event, which organizers said they will repeat next year. Massa said next year, she won’t wear such a scary mask.
