HUNTINGTON – The Council on Aging is sponsoring a bus trip to Encore Boston Harbor Casino on Sept. 30, with departures from Huntington and Westfield, open to all.
The cost of the trip is $89 per person, which includes $20 slot play in the casino and a dinner at O’Connor’s Restaurant in Worcester, taxes and gratuities included. Dinner choices are baked haddock, grilled chicken breast or shepherd’s pie. The Huntington COA is offering an additional $20 subsidy to Huntington residents who go on the trip.
The bus leaves from Huntington Town Hall at 7:40 a.m. and returns around 7:45 p.m., with an additional pickup at St. John's Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St. in Westfield, at 8 a.m., returning around 7:30 p.m.
The deadline for paid reservations has been extended to Sept. 14. To reserve a spot or for more information, contact trip coordinator Helen Speckels at 685-5667.
Speckels said seniors have been asking to restart the popular COA trips, canceled last year due to the pandemic.
She said the new Encore Boston Harbor Casino is reportedly beautiful, and O’Connor’s is a popular destination, so she hopes people will sign up. You don’t have to be a senior to go on the trip, she added.
