Huntington Country Store plans to close this fall after 3 decades open

Date: 8/8/2023

HUNTINGTON — A new sign on the Huntington Country Store on July 31 announced the end of an era. The store will be closing after 30 years, and everything must go.

“It is with mixed emotions that we announce that after being open since 1992, a wonderful run of over 30+ years, we will be retiring this year. Our last day open for sales will be on or before Oct. 22, 2023. Thank you to all our friends and neighbors from far and wide for all your wonderful comments and compliments all these years. It has been a lot of fun and we’ve enjoyed getting to know everyone. We hope you can all stop in to chat a little and maybe get a good deal during the next few months while we hold our going out of business sale. Everyone’s welcome,” said the message from owners Randy and Becky Butler on the store’s website at www.huntingtoncountrystore.com.

The well-known landmark, which is for sale for $279,000, has served as a country store, bed and breakfast, restaurant, farm house and dance hall. The building will be vacant at the time of acquisition, and could be used as a residence or as a business.

“It’s up to the next owner to decide the next chapter,” wrote the Butlers.
