A vote for Lesser

Date: 10/27/2016

In response to a letter published on Oct. 13, I would like to assure that, yes, our family will be voting in our local election. We shall be voting for our incumbent, state Sen. Eric Lesser, who – to set the record straight – is a graduate of Harvard Law School, not a student. He has been in Boston – on Beacon Hill – working on behalf of his constituents. One needs only to pick up any local (and Boston, for that matter) paper to document Sen. Lesser's continual, tireless efforts and accomplishments. He is involved, visible, and available to us with one mission: to bring attention and improvement to Hampden and Hampshire counties.

I consider Senator Lesser's experience in the federal government, Washington DC to be an asset, and I consider the DC contributions made to his campaign to be a vote of confidence from leaders who recognize and encourage his leadership abilities. In a political process mired in deceit, manipulation and unjust criticism, we find new hope in this honorable man who willingly puts service before self, who in spite of being the recipient of incorrect and unfair judgments, is willing to continue his fight for us. Given less than two years thus far, Sen. Lesser has worked tirelessly on Beacon Hill to improve the quality of our lives. The wheels of democracy take time; his ongoing efforts are alive and well in progress.

Our family will vote for the most qualified, experienced candidate, Sen. Eric Lesser, voting to give him the time needed to continue his mission of improving opportunities for citizens of Western Massachusetts. Please go online to verify for yourselves the accomplishments and goals of our tested, dedicated senator, and please be sure to vote on Nov. 8.
