Hibernation is not only a torpid condition known to some animals but many humans also pass the long winter months in seclusion. The answer to finding a winter stimulus may lie in an inexpensive and invigorating sport called cross country skiing. School physical education instructors may want to explore a program of such. Cross country ski racing can be done right on the school athletic field. Think of it as a continuation of summer track and field to a transitional winter form of track.

The only ingredients needed to get started is an inexpensive pair of skis and boots and a longing for a few inches of the while stuff.
