They privatized the custodial night work and the cafeteria staffing. Some of these people were hired back as temps with no benefits or insurance, etc. The schools opened in September with many very messy, etc. Contracts with most departments were way below the rate of inflation. Spfld. will eventually balance its budget. Sadly, it will be at great expenses to its employees and especially its retirees.
