A thank you to everyone who rallied around me on Sept. 15. On Sept. 15 at around 11:10 a.m., I was parking my Jeep Liberty in Arnold's parking lot on Shaker Road in East Longmeadow. As I was pressing on the brake the accelerator became stuck and my Jeep went through a fence and head-on into a tree. Afterward, I was amazed at the number of people who came to my aid. I had one person help me to call my husband and another got me a bottle of water. Others offered to help in any way that they could (letting me sit in their car to calm down, offering to get me coffee, tea, soda or call an ambulance). Ever the employees of Arnold's rushed out to help. Donna Rice and Co.Thank you! I just want to thank everyone for all of your concern and help. I am very blessed that there was no one walking in front of the vehicle when it accelerated and also that I had my seat belt on or I wouldn't be here writing this. Thank you to the East Longmeadow Police Department as well. Thanks especially goes to Officer Terri Shaw and the other offices who were there to assist me. Thank you to everyone. Your kindness and compassion has restored my faith in mankind. Maureen R. Getchell Wilbraham |
