What in the world is happening to the world ? Passing by impeachment let me go to Western Massachusetts. It is 20 degrees outside and downtown Springfield is blocked off to accommodate a Winter Festival and sports fans. To each his own.
While the sports fans and ice skaters are bustling about , there is, in the mayor’s office, yes, Mayor Sarno, a group of young women.They could have been refugees at one time. They are stating they wish to make an appointment with the mayor. Following this on a video, I learn they are from the the Pioneer Valley Project. Three Sarno staff people look as though they are motioning for them to leave. You can hear them ask for an appointment.
I am guessing they were there to discuss with Mayor Sarno his recent stand on “no more refugees for Springfield.” They were young ladies, posing no threat except an occasional loud voice.
How difficult would it have been to schedule an appointment and hear their views?
Moving on. Bishop Rozanski disinvited the Gay Men’s Chorus from performing at St. Theresa’s in South Hadley last month.
It is becoming a epidemic. Everywhere, we seem to be dealing with , yes, old white men who think they know best. May the young women continue their quest for an appointment. May the Gay Men’s Chorus continue to prosper and someday sing at the next Bishops Installation.
As this and the Impeachment hearings go on, let us cling to truths, common sense and awareness of community.
