Date: 2/12/2015

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Falcons snapped a seven-game losing streak and took two of three games last weekend.

The Falcons toppled the Albany Devils 4-1 to end skid Feb. 6, then surpassed the Syracuse Crunch 2-1 in overtime Feb. 7 before falling to the Providence Bruins 4-2 on Feb. 8.

The Falcons wrapped up their three-in-three with four points this weekend and are currently second in the Northeast Division with 60 points. The team sits at 28-17-4-0 on the season. They are back in action on Feb. 13 when they travel to face the Manchester Monarchs.

Against the Devils, Falcons goaltender Oscar Dansk earned the win and first star honors, stopping 29 of 30 shots. Sean Collins, Adam Cracknell, Michael Chaput and Trent Vogelhuber all scored for Springfield.

Dansk earned his second straight victory, turning away 39 of 40 shots for the Falcons against the Crunch, outdueling former Springfield goaltender Allen York, who stopped 34 of 36.

Ryan Craig got Springfield on the board first and Marko Dano fired the game-winner from a sharp angle that rung off the post and past York 4:23 into the overtime frame.

Springfield goaltender Scott Munroe turned away 39 of 43 shots in defeat against Providence, while goaltender Niklas Svedberg, who was recently recalled by Boston, stopped 31 of 33.

Mike Cornell fired a shot from the point that was redirected by Adam Cracknell for Springfield’s first goal to tie the game at one followed by a Josh Anderson tally to knot it up at two.

A late second period rally built up a 4-2 lead for the Bruins.
