EAST LONGMEADOW – The East Longmeadow Marlins won their second Pioneer Valley Summer Swim League Championships in three years at the championships on July 24 and 25 at Smith College in Northampton. The Marlins took home 26 first place finishes and 28 second place finishes.
In addition, three records were broken by the Marlins. Charly Blazy broke the boys 15-18 100-yard freestyle record (49.42 seconds) and the Boys 15-18 100-yard breaststroke record (1:02.29). Sophia Roche broke the Girls 13-14 50-yard backstroke record (1:08.75). The Marlins also had an undefeated season, winning all seven of their dual meets.
