Life Enrichment Expo gives "scoop" on boomer servicesDate: 3/23/2009 SPRINGFIELD " The 18th Annual Life Enrichment Expo at the Basketball Hall of Fame, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is the original major event of its kind for those aged 50 and older. Again this year, the event is co-sponsored by the Springfield Jewish Community Center and PRIME Magazine.
Admission is free, there is plenty of free on-site parking and all the exhibits are handicapped accessible.
More than 60 exhibitors will be on hand throughout the day to provide up-to-date information to boomer and retirement-age people. Come learn the latest on volunteer opportunities, financial planning, healthcare providers, housing options, ageless fashion, entertainment opportunities and more. You ll also get the scoop on how these industries are handling the current economic recession.
The Life Enrichment Expo will feature a broad range of exhibitors, including Avada Hearing Care Center, Bacon & Wilson P. C., Balin Eye & Laser Center, Baystate Hardware & Accessories, Bazen Chiropractic and the Chicopee VNA and Great to Be Home. Heritage Woods, Loomis Communities, Riverbend Medical Centers and Triple S Construction will also also be among the exhibitors slated for this year.
One of the new exhibitors, Baystate Hardware & Accessories Inc., is dedicated to helping people achieve the freedom they deserve no matter what their disability.
We provide safe and accessible environments for customers, Cindy Harris, co-owner of Baystate Hardware, said. We first do a home assessment in order to customize safe and accessible environments for our customers.
Exhibitor Added Attractions of East Longmeadow will present a strolling fashion show during the Expo, featuring contemporary women s clothing and accessories from the boutique. Expo visitors can also meet owner Carol Kononitz in person.
Also new this year is the addition of Health New England as the presenting sponsor. Their booth will feature information about the Medicare Advantage Plan offerings, as well as health information and screenings. Health New England will also offer a hands-on symposium on achieveing optimum health during the Life Expo, in the Basketball Hall of Fame auditorium.
NovaCare Rehabilitation is also a sponsor of this year s Life Enrichment Expo. Their booth will feature grip assessments and balance, as well as gait assessments to all people attending the Expo. NovaCare now offers Occupational Therapy at the Springfield JCC location, 1160 Dickinson St.
