The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes, and improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Diabetes is a fast-growing, devastating disease that now affects nearly 24 million Americans. In fact, if present trends continue, one in three children born after 2000 will develop it in their lifetime. It is estimated that over 55,000 Pioneer Valley residents are living with diabetes.
